Beware the Little Foxes With Big Ears
Prophetic Word 2026—Beth Kennedy, Verve Ministries
I recently had a dream about a little fox with enormous ears, much like the picture I shared here. It was small and, in truth, looked quite harmless. In my dream, I took it to the vet, and she told me, “This fox’s huge ears make its hearing so sensitive that it hears even the faintest of sounds. Its sensitivity is on such a scale that too much noise will cause it pain.”
The scene then changed, and I saw the fox at a distance, running in a chaotic manner, straight into the vines of harvest.
On waking, I heard God say:
“Beware the little foxes with big ears—do not let them ruin the vine.”
As I waited further on the Lord, He made it clear. He’s not warning us about our enemies, but about where we focus. What are we listening to? Where is our attention being cast? Is all that we are hearing so loud that we cannot see God through it all? Could it be that the noise of what we look at and listen to is causing us to run in chaos and ruin the vines of harvest?
As I enquired further, He said to me, “Warn my people—beware the little foxes with big ears. Do not allow the little foxes with big ears to ruin the vine.”
God is encouraging us to be very wary of what we look at and listen to. He is warning us about where we place our focus and the volume with which we allow it to fill us. Because it’s imperative in this season that we “catch for us the foxes, the little foxes that ruin the vineyards, our vineyards that are in bloom” (Song of Solomon 2:15).
Many of us are in a season of upgrade. Our discernment is sharper; we are sensing more, hearing more, perceiving more. We can feel the ground shaking as revival comes. A lot is happening on a global scale, both within the Body and beyond it, and God is addressing genuine issues, but He is also warning us to be careful where our attention lies and at what volume we hear the noise. He is asking us not to allow the loudness of it all to cause chaos in our hearts. What we listen to, what we focus on, has the potential to ruin the vine, and so He is encouraging us not to turn the volume up on anything but what He has to say in this day. Don’t get distracted by what you cannot control. Don’t get caught up in the noise. Instead, focus on where you are called, situated, positioned. Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, and your hand to the plow. Let love be your compass because distraction and dissatisfaction are the enemy’s game. Our response to all the noise we hear is to have a greater focus on the Lord, for the harvest is coming—indeed, I would say, “It is here!”
And for those experiencing an upgrade in discernment, remember, we must steward and govern a heightened awareness well, or it too has the potential to ruin the harvest. What we hear can become what we fixate on, and if it’s not the sound of the Kingdom, we must choose to ignore it, or take it back to God to seek further instruction while focusing on all He is doing in our land. We must be wise, capable of recognising static and noise as a strategy of the enemy to cause further pain, division, and ruination within the Body of Jesus. An unhealthy fixation on the noise will harm us and lead to further discord, discouragement, despair, and disunity. Listening to every sound at a heightened volume will distract us from where we are called to be and what we are called to do. Don’t let what you hear amplify until it becomes the little foxes that ruin the vine.
And of course, we must remember the example of Samson. When he tied the foxes together and set them alight, the entire harvest burned to the ground — sheaves, standing grain, nothing stood (Judges 15).
To put it plainly, ungoverned listening won’t just distract you—it has the potential to burn the harvest.
Of course, discernment is not the problem—it’s a gift. What matters is what you do with what you hear, and the volume and priority you give to God’s voice above all else. Remember, “solid food is for the mature, who by constant use have trained themselves to distinguish good from evil” (Hebrews 5:14).
So I encourage you: train your senses—don’t just feel everything, see everything, hear everything. Govern what you allow to shape you, or what you hear will become the little fox with big ears that destroys the vines. Keep your eyes on Him; keep your heart on the vine; and keep your focus on the harvest at hand. In these days, focus is a Kingdom superpower and a form of spiritual warfare, so when we hear the noise, we turn the volume down on it all by turning true north to face Jesus and do all He desires us to do.
Please don’t let what you hear cause you distress and become so magnified that it costs you what God is growing. God remains, as always, on the throne. Please beware of the little foxes with big ears, for they will ruin the vine. Be wise in what you listen to and careful where you fixate. Be cautious with what you hear, and the volume with which you hear it — for the harvest is here, at hand, right now, and God is calling all who will come.
Our focus must be on what He is saying, all He is doing, and where He is doing it. Jesus continues to release the sounds of harvest as He declares among us all, “I tell you, open your eyes and look at the fields! They are ripe for harvest” (John 4:35).

Powerful truth Beth, and one the Lord has been revealing to me lately as well lately.
As I have listened to Him guiding me away from ‘unhelpful/distracting noise’ that is ever present in my current season, I am choosing to follow Him as He guides me towards the ‘life-words’ (like this one you have shared) confirming His plans for me in the season ahead.
Thank you for your obedience in sharing.
Hugs and blessings! 🤗🥰🙏🏼❤️🔥
Hey my friend thank you for commenting and encouraging. I rarely post words and do so after much consideration, prayer, and writing and refining. I’m grateful to you ♥️👑🥰
It is hard sometimes through all the noise to still your soul enough to tune into His still quiet voice, I could use those big ears. How much we must miss. 🙏
It is difficult but so necessary. Yes BIG God ears, and noise cancelling headphones when it comes to enemy distraction tactics 🥹🌸
I attended a leadership conference on Saturday and the message came from Nehemiah and the speaker’s theme was about learning to feel what God feels, see what God sees, speak what God speaks, and act as God acts. Your dream adds an important caution; in order to do that you must learn how to govern what you hear, and the challenge is not every voice needs to be equally heard. Timely message on sensitivity. Nehemiah heard bad news about Jerusalem, but he did not run in chaos. He took the burden to God. Nehemiah heard God’s heart and moved purposefully.
What you focus on becomes what you move toward. The speakers statistics about prayer are revealing. 80% of our prayers are about problems, then problems are shaping our focus, and an estimate of 1% are God centered prayers. But a God assignment requires focus. Nehemiah refused repeated distractions. “I am doing a great work and cannot come down.”
Great faith requires a greater voice. One statement from the conference stands out, “You will not do great things without big prayers.” Linkage to your dream would be, if the loudest voice is fear, criticism, social media, offense, or disappointment, then the little foxes begin damaging the vineyard.
Finally, God measures significance, not noise. The harvest in the dream is significant, not the fox. The enemy often cannot stop a God job, so he tries to distract God’s people with little foxes. Wrapping this up, if God is giving us a harvest assignment, don’t let the little foxes steal your focus. Feel what God feels, but don’t carry the noise. Hear what God says, and give His voice the highest volume.
For me, your dream incorporated with recent words, serve as a call to remain steadfast and focused on God’s covenant promises, discernment and sessitivity are key in this season.
Love this Beth. A great reminder xxoo
