While you may feel you are defending your place as resistance comes, know that in reality, it is God who fights your battles.
It is in the little things that God will so often speak to us
I was looking out my back window towards where one of our cats was sunning herself. As she luxuriated in the sunshine, she was suddenly aware of our other cat stalking her from the garden’s covering. In an instant, she stood alert and aware as to the approaching attack. I watched as the other cat pounced upon her and fought. Holding her ground, the first cat lay back and defended her place, fighting fiercely. I watched and called the fight off, commanding the attacking cat to leave her be. It only took a moment, and the attacking cat left the scene to lie elsewhere in the garden.
I believe our life in God is much like this. We might discern spiritual forces that come to resist us. They may try to move us out of rest and shift from our sphere of influence. We might even fiercely resist the opposition that comes, and as we do, we feel we are fighting alone. But, the truth of the matter is our God fights for us and calls off the attack. He stands over us, with a heart for peace, and calls off the resistance that comes to dislodge us.
If you are feeling somewhat beleaguered, know the “Lord himself will fight for you. Just stay calm,” (Exodus 14 NLT). We need only lie back and trust Him, as He goes to war on our behalf.
Exodus 14:14 – Moses answered the people, “Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the LORD will bring you today. The Egyptians you see today you will never see again. The LORD will fight for you; you need only to be still.”
Amen! This scripture passage is one that Holy Spirit has been speaking to me for the last few months. Thank you for your confirmation.

I love how you mentioned the cats in this story and how you commanded the attacking cat to leave the other cat alone, and the attacking cat walked away! A good example of the point expressed in Exodus 14:14. Our words are powerful and so faith-building in every battle. God fights our battles and He uses the words we speak against the enemy in every battle the enemy throws at us to build our faith at the same time. Our angels are also released as we give voice to God’s word, and that brings me comfort. I enjoyed reading yet another positive, faith-filled story of yours. Thanks for sharing!
